Pokemon Go Will Not Be Released in Other Regions Soon

Nintendo and Niantic’s highly popular app these days, Pokemon Go, has been downloaded millions of times across different regions in the world.

The people who are fortunate enough to try out this game are from the United States of America, Australia, New Zealand, and Germany.

That means that some parts of Europe and in Asia haven’t had the luxury of playing Pokemon Go, at least, officially.

In a recent letter from a representative of Niantic Studios, the game developers, he said that Pokemon Go will not be released for other regions as of now and in the coming days.

According to the representative, their team is currently working hard on improving the base game itself and they have no immediate plans of releasing the game for all other regions other than the countries that I have mentioned.

This is in light after certain rumors that the game will be introduced in Asian countries starting tomorrow.

The good news is that the rumor has been squashed. The bad news is that people from other regions will have to wait a little bit longer to be able to play this game officially.

Now, you might be seeing that I included the word “officially” in this article. That is because some people in Asia have found their way in playing this game by downloading an unofficial APK (for Android mobile phones).

This allows them to play the game even though the game is not officially released yet in the said region.

Now, this can present a lot of problems for players. For one, players who have been found out to play the game using the APK might get banned as the game they’ve downloaded is not supported by Niantic.

Furthermore, the APK that they used to install and play Pokemon Go might contain malware as the APK can be embedded with malicious contents by the user who uploaded it.

I know that this game is quite popular and it is quite enjoyable but in order to not suffer any consequences, people in this region will have to wait for the official release of the game.

In other news, Nintendo is reinforcing its anti-piracy efforts against the Pokemon Go APK. In fact, the company is silently communicating with Google to take down any webpages that host a download of these illegal Pokemon Go APKs.

Unfortunately, this may be harder than Nintendo has thought. That is because a lot of people have already gotten their hands on the APK and it would be nearly impossible for them to track and take down those APKs from being downloaded.

It is not new what Nintendo’s doing as the company has also done the same efforts before; albeit with minor success.

Still, Pokemon Go is becoming widely popular in the regions it was released in and a lot of people are already bolstering their Pokemon lineup.

So to recap, people not from the USA, Germany, New Zealand, and Australia may have to wait a little longer to be able to download the official release of the Pokemon Go app in their countries.
